How do I convert bytes (B), kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB) and gigabytes (GB)?
This calculator will convert different data sizes which is handy when our plans are measured in MB or GB but often download sizes of files etc are in a different unit, such as bytes (B) or kilobytes (KB)
What does it mean when I see e- or e+ in the byte calculator?
The e stands for exponent, and is a short way of telling you how big ( e+) or small ( e-) a number actually is when you haven't got much room.
To understand the actual size of the number you need to move the decimal point the number of times indicated. For eg, if there is an e+7 at the end, you'd move the decimal point 7 spaces to the right. If the number has an e-6, you'd move it to 6 spaces to the left.
All downloads and uploads contribute to your usage - including the small things like web pages and their images, emails and their attachments, and any chat sessions.
TIP
You can find out the size of an image on a web page usually by right-clicking and selecting properties.
